Flying goose Cool Projects and Successes

For 2006, I co-chaired the International Coach Federation Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, November 1-4. This was a most exciting project for me, and it filled my year with visioning, planning, and fun.

I presented a talk titled Positioning Your Coaching Business for Success at the first International ADHD Coaching Conference in Philadelphia in late March, 2003. You can order a tape of the talk ($11) by going to http://www.audiotapes.com/product.asp?ProductCode='TM19'.

I have a chapter in an book being published in summer, 2003: My chapter is "Questioning for Clarity" and the book is ADHD Coaching: Strategies for Success, edited by Bob Seay.

A client and I had an article written about us at the DrKoop.com site. Here's the link if you'd like to read it: http://www.drkoop.com/family/womens/feature.asp?id=5807

I was referenced in an article about ADD in Newsday magazine recently. The link is: http://www.newsday.com/business/columnists/ny-biz-kitch0317.column?coll=ny%2Dbusiness%2Dcolumnists

Cool Projects

I've developed a meditation for coaches which I'm in the process of producing on tape. My goal is to develop a series of audiotapes.

I'm completing Wealth Diva certification with Loral Langemeier's program and will soon be leading classes for ADDers around that.

I'm very proud of the bookstore we had at the International ADHD Coaching Conference. I chaired and developed the list of resources there. Our feedback and sales were terrific. You can view that resource list by downloading it here.

I've been co-chair of the International Coach Federation's Conference Bookstore in 2001 and 2002. This year, I'll chair the committee again for the Denver conference in November. We'll have approximately 300 titles, the most comprehensive listing of coaching resources available anywhere. To view the list of resources for 2002, you can download it here or go to the www.coachfederation.org site where you'll find it under the Old Conferences link.

For six months in 2002, I was part of a trainer team that led a Practices of Excellence course for Coach U. Jan Austin, friend and excellent corporate coach, spent a year developing this program and writing the 500-page manual. If you're serious about building an incredible coaching business, you need to take this 6-month course.

I have a product idea which I'm developing and hope to take to market within the next year. I can't tell you much about it yet except that I should have prototypes made within a month or so, and if I can learn how to get it manufactured reasonably, my market research tells me it should be well received. If you know of any angel investors, please send them my way!

There's a book idea that has been nudging me to spend time on, and I hope to share some progress on that with you soon.

Celebrate with Me!!! Since December, 2001, I have lost 40 pounds and counting. I'm so excited about this because I've been a large person a very long time. Years ago, I vowed never to diet again because diets had always ultimately caused me to become larger than before. Well, colleague and good friend Karen Whitworth told me about an eating plan that was really working for many people. Based on her suggestion, I went online to www.providacorp.com and bought Michael Thurmond's 6-week Body Makeover program. It's very coach-like in its approach. You get videotapes, audiotapes, a customized eating plan and blueprint, and online support as well. What I like about it is that it gets you started very simply and quickly, then offers education and more when you're ready for it. Also, there's no special foods or drinks to buy. It's an intelligent and very healthy way to eat, and I know that I'm eating foods that are much better for me than I was before I started this plan. I appreciate the education about how to raise my metabolism, I'm eating more often than I used to, and the program has been easy to follow. Besides the pounds, I've lost over 25 inches from around my body. Isn't that incredible?!?
